Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Announces 2018 Schedule

Glasgow, KY (January 13, 2018)
– Officials with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series are pleased to announce the tour’s 2018 racing schedule as the group readies to begin its ninth season of competition. The series will contest its 2018 schedule of events at twelve different racing venues over the course of the 2018 racing season, with appearances at tracks in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. The 2018 Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series racing campaign will see competitors race for over $60,000 to win in A-Main winner’s purses. The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will begin its 2018 racing at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL on Friday April 6 for $2,000 to win, with a date and track to be announced to complete the opening weekend on Saturday April 7. The third weekend of April the tour will be in Kentucky with stops at Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro, KY on Friday April 20th and Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY on Saturday April 21st, with both events paying $2,000 to win.
The month of May will see five events on the docket, with the first pair of those events set for Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, IN on Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5 at Charleston Speedway in Charleston, IL on Saturday May 5, with both of those events paying $2,000 to win. A trio of Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series events over Memorial Day weekend will see the three-race swing start on Friday May 25 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL for a $2.000 to win contest. The middle event of the weekend will be at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL for a $2,000 to win event on Saturday May 26. The weekend concludes at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL Sunday May 27 for a $3,000 to win race. Three events are also set for the month of June as the tour will visit Daugherty Speedway in Chase, IN on Friday June 1 for $2,000 to win, followed the next evening on Saturday June 2 with a visit to Kickapoo Motor Speedway in Danville, IL, also a $2,000 to win event. The month concludes on Saturday June 30 with an event to be announced.
The month of July will kick off with 3 events. Mark your calendars for July 1st for the first time ever a UMP dirt modified will hit the famous Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, OH for a $2000 to win feature, Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY will fire things up again in 2018 after a couple of years being idle and they will host a $2,000 to win event on Friday July 20, followed by a visit to Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY for the Hope for Harlie Benefit event, paying $2,000 to win on Saturday July 21.
The month of August will see a pair of events at Charleston Speedway in Charleston, IL on Friday August 17 and Saturday August 18 as the track will sanction the track’s 7th annual Take ‘Em Off 40 Topless weekend. The race on Friday August 17 will pay $2,000 to win, with the event on Saturday August 18 paying $5,000 to win. The month concludes but kicks off what has become known as one of the biggest weekends in UMP Dirt Modified racing on Friday August 31 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL for $3,000 to win.
September starts out with a bang as the series makes a stop at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL on Saturday September 1 for the Casey’s Modified Nationals event, paying $10,000 to win, while the Labor Day weekend concludes on Sunday September 2 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL paying $5,000 to win. The final stop in the tour wi ll conclude 2018 with the Summit Racing Equipment Season Championship event on Friday September 28 at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL, paying $5,000 to win as the best in UMP Dirt modified racing battle for this crown jewel series of events.
The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will again see its events conducted of the rules and regulations of the UMP Dirt Car organization, with drivers able to earn points in the national UMP Dirt Car points chase, along with earning points toward the 2017 tour’s season championship.
